Usage Guidelines Optimal Performance Protocols
Mixing Procedures
Pre-heat Base Oil
Heat base oil to 70-80°C for optimal dispersion. Higher temperatures improve activation efficiency.
Add Organoclay
Slowly add 8-12% organoclay by weight while maintaining high-speed mixing (1500-2000 RPM).
Polar Activator
Add 2-3% polar activator (methanol/water 95:5) for enhanced gel development.
Extended Mixing
Continue high-speed mixing for 30-45 minutes to ensure complete activation and uniform dispersion.
Quality Control Parameters
Rheological Properties
Monitor plastic viscosity, yield point, and gel strength at operating temperature.
Thermal Stability
Conduct aging tests at maximum anticipated downhole temperature for 16+ hours.
Fluid Loss Control
Verify HTHP fluid loss remains within acceptable limits at operating conditions.
Electrical Stability
Test emulsion stability for invert emulsion mud systems at high temperature.
