Follow these step-by-step instructions to prepare a CP series organoclay pre-gel and incorporate it into your resin system correctly.

Prepare the organoclay gel base using the following sequence

Charge 85-87% solvents or mixed solvents into the vessel and mix.

Mix thoroughly

Add 5-10% CP series organoclay. Disperse at high speed.

2,500 rpm 5-10 minutes

Add 3-5% polar activator and continue dispersing at high speed.

2,500 rpm 15-20 minutes

For poor-wetting capacity resins (epoxy, polyester, short-oil alkyd, acrylic) combined with surfactant that develop thixotropy under shear.

Suitable when thixotropy develops under shear

For poor-wetting capacity resins with non-thixotropic grind materials, using surfactant if required.

Pre-gel is added after grinding, not before
