What Is Organophilic Bentonite?
Organophilic bentonite (organoclay) is a surface-modified smectite clay treated with quaternary ammonium salts. The modification converts its naturally hydrophilic surface to organophilic, enabling it to swell and build gel networks in organic solvents, oils, and non-polar systems -- delivering superior rheology control where water-based additives cannot.
