General Application Process

Pre-heating (Optional)

If conditions permit, heat the base oil or solvent to 60-70°C to improve dispersion efficiency.

Add Organoclay

Add organoclay while stirring at moderate speed. Typical dosage: 1-3% for coatings, 7-10% for greases.

Initial Mixing

Stir for 5-10 minutes at medium shear to ensure uniform distribution throughout the system.

Add Polar Activator

For grease applications, add acetone/water (95/5) at 20-30% of organoclay weight to enhance gel formation.

High Shear Processing

Use high-speed disperser or grinding machine for 25-30 minutes to achieve optimal gel development.

  • Dosage: 7-10% of total formulation weight
  • Polar activator required: 2-3% acetone/water solution
  • Extended mixing time: 25-30 minutes for complete gel development
